Stalking the roads of West Virginia, the Snarly Yow is an incredibly fearsome and mysterious creature. Possibly coming to America with German settlers, its name derives from the monstrous noise that it creates. It’s described as being a huge wolf-like beast with sharp fangs that could tear you to shreds in an instant.

Reports of its abilities vary wildly. Some of the earliest claims state that it is able to appear out of thin air, manifesting on the side of roads to torment travellers. Others have said that it's unkillable. One driver in particular described a night where he thought he hit a dog but when he stopped his car, he watched through his rearview mirror in horror as the beast got back up and glared at the driver.

These magical elements make the Snarly Yow incredibly unpredictable and a formidable opponent. Do not underestimate its ferocity and certainly don't try to run it over in your car. You’re just going to wind up with a very nasty dent in your vehicle.
