Lock up your dogs because the killer of canines, the Beast of Bladenboro, is on the loose. First reported in 1953, this large black-furred beast has a clear mission. It targets dogs and ruthlessly decapitates them.
While much of the evidence that we have of the Beast of Bladenboro is the massacre it leaves behind, there has been some eye witness testimony. It has been described as reaching up to five feet in length, with dark, matted fur and a cat-like face.
Some of the stranger reports have come from these witnesses, with some even saying that it makes the sound of a baby crying or that of a woman screaming. With our vast experience of creatures that make sounds like this, this suggests it having mimic-like qualities. Perhaps using sounds of distress to tempt people to investigate. Who could hear a baby crying in the woods and ignore it? The Beast of Bladenboro may be preying on your kindness so we’d recommend investigating distress calls in groups or pairs if in the local area.
