A strange feline creature has been prowling the moors of Exmoor since the late 1970s and has shown no signs of being captured any time soon.
The Exmoor Beast is described as being as much as six feet in length and while its coloring has been up for debate, most agree that it has dark fur. All photographic evidence we have seen of the creature has been fuzzy at best but has at least confirmed it has dark fur and piercing eyes. Some of the photographs captured show a creature that while feline in appearance, has the stature of a bear, implying that the creature is large and powerful.
Sightings and reports of the Exmoor Beast ramped up in the 1980s where it was accused of killing over 100 sheep in a short space of time. This prompted the local authorities to employ Marine snipers to attempt to take the creature down. They failed spectacularly and the beast continued to be at large. Another hunting humiliation came in the shape of a cryptozoologist who set out to capture the creature and instead had to be rescued after getting stuck in their own trap for 2 days. Both of these tales highlight the intelligence of the Exmoor Beast (or the extreme stupidity of the hunters in question) and, if you’re planning on bringing the beast to your team, we recommend coming up with a more thorough plan than simply point and shoot or laying down traps.
